Tarah has a background in many different dance styles including: ballroom, ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, flamenco, and belly dancing. She reignited her passion for ballroom dancing in 2009, and hasn't looked back since. After completing Gwen Burton’s Professional Ballroom Teaching Academy, she was chosen to stay on as a teaching assistant to Gwen. Tarah has experience in formation team dancing and is currently a choreographer for the award-winning Spirit in Motion Dance Company. She also has extensive experience with ballroom competitions and showcase performances. She loves the feeling of gliding around the dance floor with a partner. Tarah takes great pleasure in working with beginning students, helping them to find in themselves the dancers they want to be, teaching them how to be comfortable on the dance floor, and showing them how to have fun!
Tarah grew up in the wine country of Santa Rosa, California, where she became a registered nurse. She moved to the Sacramento area to pursue a bachelors degree in nursing at CSUS and fell in love with the Sacramento area. When not teaching dance, she can be found at the dog park playing with her cocker spaniel, Lady.
