Start with a beginning ballroom class
Beginning Ballroom covers Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, and Nightclub Two Step. Beginning Latin includes Rumba, Salsa, Cha Cha, and East Coast Swing. Beginning Ballroom and Beginning Latin alternate between Monday at 7:15 pm and Tuesday at 6:30 pm each month. Each beginning class introduces a different dance, so you can join without having attended the previous week.
Monday ballroom and Latin technique
The Level 3–5 Ballroom/Latin Technique class meets Mondays at 7:15 pm and includes Samba at the intermediate and advanced levels. Merengue is taught in private lessons.
Thursday classes
Beginning West Coast Swing is listed for Thursdays at 6:30 pm, followed by all-levels Salsa and Bachata at 7:15 pm. Check the current studio calendar for the dance, date, level, and any changes.
Beginning swing on Fridays
Midtown Stomp’s beginning 6-count swing drop-in class takes place every Friday at 8 pm and is included with Friday dance admission. It starts from the beginning each week, so no previous class, experience, or partner is needed. Dancing starts at 9 pm.
Swing series classes
Lindy Hop 1 and Technique build from week to week. Lindy Hop 1 is the next step after beginning 6-count swing; check each series for its dates, experience level and price, and ask our team about joining.
Keep building in ballroom and Latin
The ballroom and Latin class progression runs from beginning through Level 6+. The studio recommends spending at least a year at each level after moving into Level 2. Your instructor can help choose the right class. This progression is separate from the Lindy Hop series levels.
