Spirit In Motion Dance Company

The Spirit in Motion ballroom performance and competition teams are always a big hit in our showcases, enter in competitions and perform locally.  These teams audition in the fall and practice on Monday and Thursday evenings.

Established in 2001, the Spirit in Motion Dance Company is a great formation dance team. Sponsored by Spotlight Ballroom, Spirit in Motion has competed successfully at numerous venues throughout Northern California under the tutelage of director Gwen Burton. We perform at competitions such as the International Grand Ball, the San Francisco Open, and the San Francisco Autumn Classic.

Over the years, Spirit in Motion has performed a variety of routines, each full of dazzling lifts, tricks, and amazing energy. Our repertoire spans most of the social dances, with Latin, Ballroom, and Swing well-represented. More than 30 amateur and professional dancers comprise our company.

Our dance company deeply believes in the beauty and joy that can be expressed through dance and music. Some of our best performances and experiences as a company have been in the most unexpected of places. Please support us and help spread the message – and above all, please dance!
